Machelle’s function at PRIA Healthcare:

As a Senior Manager of Reimbursement, Value Generation, and Market Access, Machelle Morningstar is a key member of PRIA’s strategic team. With her deep experience with TPT, NTAP, and NewTech APC, Machelle works with providers and facilities to ensure technology-appropriate coding strategies are implemented. 

  Machelle’s life before joining the People of PRIA Healthcare:

Before joining PRIA Healthcare, Machelle’s professional journey began in coding and reimbursement, working in physician practices and a billing service, eventually leading into management roles. In 2007, an opportunity arose to work for an orthopedic consulting firm, which sparked a passion for the medical device industry. Following this role, Machelle started her own coding and reimbursement consultancy specializing in spine and orthopedics. 

  Machelle’s life outside of PRIA Healthcare:

Outside of PRIA Healthcare, Machelle volunteers with sea turtle nesting initiatives. She discovered this passion in 2002 and has expanded her volunteering to include working at a sea turtle hospital as well as conducting beach and litter sweeps. Her 20+ years of volunteer efforts reflect her love for the ocean and being near water.

With extensive expertise in Transitional Pass-Through (TPT) payments, New Technology Add-On Payments (NTAP), and NewTech APC, Machelle collaborates with providers and healthcare facilities to ensure the implementation of technology-appropriate coding strategies.

Before her tenure at PRIA Healthcare, Machelle’s career in coding and reimbursement began in physician practices and a billing service, eventually advancing to management positions. In 2007, she embraced an opportunity with an orthopedic consulting firm, which ignited her passion for the medical device industry. This led her to establish her own consultancy specializing in spine and orthopedics, focusing on coding and reimbursement.

Machelle is a seasoned consultant with a proven track record in the medical device industry. Her competencies encompass spine and medical devices, physician relations, medical compliance, patient access, and coding and reimbursement across physician, outpatient, and inpatient settings. She has successfully developed and managed patient and market access programs for numerous clients and has established and operated reimbursement call centers. Additionally, Machelle has achieved significant milestones, including securing two NTAP approvals for clients in the orthopedic sector.

Beyond her professional responsibilities at PRIA Healthcare, Machelle is deeply committed to volunteer work, particularly with sea turtle conservation initiatives. Since 2002, she has been involved in sea turtle nesting programs and has extended her volunteer efforts to include work at a sea turtle hospital and conducting beach and litter sweeps.
